Di pagi Raya…
Whew, glad I survived the first and second day of Raya. I’m starting to get used to breakfast in the morning now. My body is slowly adjusting to the having its 3 meal a day regime instead of its one day a meal regime. I don’t get up for “Sahur” if i do, i’ll just have a glass of water and it’s back to bed.
Ramadhan went by in a flash. I didn’t even feel that I’ve fasted for a month. I felt that it was over and by the time they announced the official Raya date. I was kinda stunned. “It’s Raya already???!!!”. It didn’t occur to me that Raya was here until relatives started flocking to the house on the second day.
I was exhausted really and so were my kids. From visiting relatives and friends, to me having to prep them in the mornings and evenings. By the time it was night fall I was knackered. I keep shouting and yawning at the same time.Yes! that type of knackered. I’m not sure if it was “Wooooaaahhhh!” I’m so tired I can’t wait to hit the sack or, “Woooaahhhhhh!” Get outta of my face sucka or feel muh roundhouse kick a comin’
Tonight, we have an impromptu jam session, for two hours at a studio. I can’t stand the suspense. I have a feeling it’s going to be a complete success or a disaster waiting to happen. We have two lead guitars, a bassist and a drummer setup. We had to get both the bassist and the drummer right at the very last minute who happen to be cousins of mine. The other band member is one of my old jam buddy since high school. We made a point to come up with 20 songs each and put together we would have at least 40 songs. So after the constant dilly dallying of emails for months to confirm the 40 songs, guess how many songs that we only have managed to learn to play? A pathetic two, and that’s two hours of studio time we have tonight??!!. That’s why I can’t wait to see the studio hands faces when we come out of the studio after two hours. Would it be a standing ovation or shouts of disgust?
