Here Comes the Bride

So there she was. The object of my affection. The epitome of youth radiating through her every pore. Execrating zest and zeal at everything that’s around her.

She noticed me this time around, and managed to force a smile back. Even though she was caught up in the moment. Dancing, prancing and even singing to Kimin Mudin’s, “Sayang Kinabalu.

In the background, the bride-to-be was being prepped-up, to mark the ending of existing by herself and will soon be joined in spirit to eternity with her man of choice.

The air was a mixture of tension and anticipation. The elders of the family were busy murmuring away. It was already half past two in the afternoon. “Where is the groom-to-be?”

The waiting game has ended, the groom-to-be roared to the double-storey semi-detached corner house garage in a green Toyota Land Cruiser Truck, and was coaxed out by curious on lookers to his awaiting dame.

He managed to pronounce his marriage vows to the “Imam” without failure, despite being grilled by a million and one questions on his faith.

Ben and Linda are now husband and wife. Tears flowed through the grooms eyes. Sad that both of his parents were deceased and could not witness his bride of choice and yet happy that he met someone he couldn’t live without.

Next day at the wedding reception. The husband and wife glided through every table expressing their confidence of a lifetime in eternity to invitees.

When finally I saw her again…
